What goes into your body (vegan):
- Tomato
- Red onion
- Jalapeno pepper
- Cilantro
- Lime
- Salt
- Finely chop red onion, place it in a strainer and massage about a table-spoon of salt. (This will take an edge off of the onion. If you like strong onion flavor, skip this step.
- Dice tomato and finely chop jalapeno pepper and cilantro.
- Rinse red onion and drain it well.
- In a large bowl, put all chopped vegetables and squeeze lime juice. Mix well and season with salt.
Secrets from the chef:
- No animals are harmed in the making of this dish...
- No measuring required. Whatever you feel is the right amount is the right amount.
- De-seed jalapeno before chopping for milder taste.
- Optional ingredients to add: garlic, mango, corn, green onions, etc.
